We took a road trip to IKEA in New Jersey so Laia is now a road-trippin' pro. Or something like that. This picture was taken during Laia's "first hotel stay". Okay, okay, so that isn't a milestone first according to the baby books, but let me tell you...preparing for your first road trip and hotel overnight with a brand new baby SHOULD count as a milestone.
road trip! We've been reading Laia tales of Discworld since her birth. Really. We started in the hospital since Reaper Man was the only book Mike had packed.

Doesn't he look like a vulcan in this shot? Perhaps that explanis Laia's pointy little ears!

and then the baptism (June 30th at St. James Church in Trumansburg)...My brother John is now "The Godfather" and Dana Hatfield is perhaps the first Hatfield Fairy Godmother to a descendant of the McCoy family. Some day we'll explain to Laia why her ancestors thought shooting each other was a fun way to pass the time. And in case anyone isn't confused yet, my Sis-In-Law Angela stood in for Dana.
