Although Laia was born on April 5th 2005, Laia's UnBirthday party was held on April Fools Day for three very good reasons. One, it was a Saturday and not only do I not have to work on Saturdays, most other people have that day available as well. Two, April Fools Day is a very cool day and if her parents were married on Friday the 13th then she certainly deserves an equally amusing first unbirthday party. And third...ummmm....yes. Hey look! A baby!

The day started with the little miss relaxing in bed. Would someone tell me how it is that the smallest person in the family (not counting the rabbit or cat) gets the largest chunk of bed? Perhaps because she is to cute to squish?
Once she was up and ready for the day, we opened the box of books sent by Great-Aunt Maureen. Much fun was had taking the books out, opening them all up, putting them back, taking them out, etc. ![]()
After exploring some avocado, Laia decided (with a little help from her tall ones) to change out of her overalls and into something a little less....green.

The royal we approaches! It's all about the crown and the golden nimbus of royal power. ![]()
And the power behind the crown? THE HAIR! Tremble before the cute!
Of course, should the cute begin to fail... ![]()
...you can always try the "belly button" trick. See? A belly button! How cute! Laia's UnBirthday brought her even more books. An entire basket from Bis-Nonnas and cousins and Grandmothers and Crazy Aunts and Fairy godfathers and even (gasp) her parents. See the happy smiles?
And remember how much Laia enjoyed playing with the jug band? This xylaphone was just what she needed to make a real contribution to the world of toddler music!
No party would be complete without a nap of course. While Laia sleeps the mama wears the crown... ![]()
